WYPR - By Sheilah Kast, Fabrice Florin, Mary Hartney - Aug. 12 (Interview) - As newspapers shrink and the internet allows each of us to read only the things we each want to be exposed to, how do you discern what news is high quality? That’s the question that NewsTrust set out to answer when they came to Baltimore early this year to start the NewsTrust Baltimore project.
For six months, through the end of July they identified news articles, posted them online and invited people review the quality of the journalism.

Now the project has wrapped up, and we’ve brought some of its leaders together to tell us what they’ve found.

Fabrice Florin, Executive Director NewsTrust joins us with Mary Hartney, Local Editor for NewsTrust Baltimore.
NewsTrust Rating: 2.0 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

New York Times Metered Paywall: It's real and it's spectacular

Baltimore Sun - By Gus Sentementes - Mar. 17 (News Analysis) - The New York Times, arguably the last great hope for quality "traditional" journalism in a Web/blog/Twitter/Facebook world, took the covers off its "metered" paywall strategy today. It's real and it's spectacular. No really. I kinda like it. Do I think it'll work? I wouldn't bet on it. But it's probably the best attempt at just doing something by a mainstream, big-time general circulation newspaper (i.e. not the Wall Street Journal and its pay model.)
NewsTrust Rating: Not rated yet - See Info » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer
