I think this is great journalism based on the relevance and construction of the piece. The story runs smoothly and every paragraph is well-supported by quotes and facts. A very interesting and entertaining read.

I find the story well written with its wide variety of quotes and anecdotes to give a good lasting image of who Donald Schaefer was. Even though I liked the ending, I feel the last two paragraphs did not flow well together. Also, I feel that some more contrasting quotes would make the story less biased, but not necessary because it is local news. I feel the story could use some more background information, especially how Schaefer grew up.

I do believe that this article is good journalism. It's relevant to society today because Donal Schaefer recently passed away. For the many people of Baltimore, he was an important figure and therefore his passing is a current topic, which makes this article very newsworthy. I really feel that this story is considered good journalism because I was engaged the whole time reading. This is exactly what you have to do now days to keep an audience. I was not familiar with William Donald Schaefer until reading this article and it really painted a great picture of him and his qualities for me. I feel the article transitioned easily and powerful quotes were incorporated within.

The reporter includes a lot of great quotes from many sources. The reporter also includes a lot of facts about his life and the story is very well written. The article does not mention his actual death, though. Some facts about his death would be interesting and helpful to know about. It is a little dificult to tell who said some of the quotes, but it is understandable because it is on the radio. I think the reporter did a good job of telling the public about his life and causing the readers to think his work about him after he died. The reporter also captured his "zaniness." I like how the reporter begins with the cliche that he was bigger than life and then later in the article explains that a 7-foot-statue of him was made.

This article shows a more personable side of Donald Schaefer than most of the other stories I have read about him. Yes, the author does offer his opinion so that may make the story seem biased, but he covered the mayor for many years and knew him personally so I think that makes him a credible source to speak about him. This story does not get lost in the facts of Donald Schaefer's life, but it shows him as a human being and how much he cared about Baltimore. If this reason, I think this is good journalism.

I enjoyed this article. I think it was very well-written. I liked that the author included some of the quirky things that William Donald Schaefer did for the city of Baltimore. It really gave me a better understanding of who he was and how he liked to get things done. I also enjoyed hearing what his friends and colleagues had to say about him. Their opinions are helpful to myself and others who weren't born when he was the mayor and governor. Since I didn't really know that much about him, it was helpful to hear some of his accomplishments that made this city what it is today.

This story is a good example of good journalism, but I wouldn't go out and say it's anywhere near perfect. There are a few grammatical errors sprinkled into the story, but not enough to take away from the overall charm of the story. Same goes for the amount of personal opinion adapted into the article. After reading this story, I have learned so much about William Donald Schaefer and his contributions he made to the city in which I live in. This story gives a very descriptive picture of the former Mayor in my mind and really highlights how he has changed the city of Baltimore for the better. Overall, this story was well written and informative as well.

I truly enjoyed reading this article about this man William Schaefer. I cannot deny the fact that I am not very savvy when it comes to politics and I really had no idea who this man was, but through this article I am able to learn. All of the perks of Baltimore I enjoy because of this mans doings. I would of very much like to be raised in this era to understand him more. To see where he started and then look at his finished product. Nonetheless, I can't but I can enjoy what he has brought to the eclectic city that is Baltimore. No matter what you thought of him, you cannot deny the fact that this man loved his city.

I like how the author provided several different quotes from several different sources about the former governor. I really liked how he listed some of Schaefer's biggest achievements throughout Baltimore and how he never gave up on them until they were completed. The author should of included a little sentence or two about how he died, I mean afterall isn't his death the reason this article was even written?Before reading this article I had no idea who the former governor was. I've walked passed his statue many of times and thought it was just a normal statue, little did I know the statute was just another representation of a man who changed the world.

This article is really relevant for the Baltimore area especially because of the struggle for good leadership since Schaefer's reign. The second half of the article maybe could have been a little more balanced between facts and quotes because it feels as if there are just too many quotes. One reason why this article is so relevant is because it helps give the younger generation an idea of the past leadership that has helped to shape Baltimore and what it is going to take to have a good leader again.
